- Many say that this is a homage to our two favorite Yuri icons from Sailormoon: Haruka and Michiru.
- Even if it wasn't inspired ... it definitely is all about Shoujo Ai.
- It's controversial and socially relevant
- It's "A" quality entertainment.
- Written by Asano Taeko, who wrote both screenplays of NANA movies
- Ueno Juri and Nagasawa Masami are a gorgeous couple
- It's a great first group activity ... :D
Who is up for a thon of LAST FRIENDS J-Dorama?
I remember Joy asking about a thon. But none could decide what to thon. I also remember Joy blogging about it in her Multiply site.
(EDIT: As Ligaya has just graciously informed me) You can find screencaps, music and other information here at Windy's site http://windracer.multiply.com/ ...
Thanks, Windy, for the infectious enthusiasm.
Here's something great to thon without going through the problem of copyright ... since it still has no DVD rights, it's being shown in free-TV but not free-TV in the Philippines. It's free for all.
The first five episodes have been translated, each eps 45 minutes long.
Here is the translated episode list:
01 The troubles we keep to ourselves: DV, pregnancy, and forbidden love
02 A life-and-death secret
03 A love that eats away life
04 A bond torn apart
05 A night of shock

"Hindi Ako Tomboy"
by Amrei Dizon
A 90-second 16mm film about a woman's quest, denial and acceptance of her sexual identity.
Amrei Dizon is a video editor, multimedia artist and managing partner of Vitalstrats Creative Solutions. She has edited a number of short and full-length films including Cinemalaya's Ang Huling Araw ng Linggo by Nick Olanka and was nominated as best editor for Ed Lejano's SEROKS a Cinemaone Original Film. She took up BFA Viscom in UP Diliman. The 16mm film, "Hindi Ako Tomboy" is an output from her Cinematography workshop at Mowelfund Film Institure in 2005.
Any crisis, be it a failed relationship or a loved one’s death, leads one to question his own identity & Weltanschauung. What went wrong along the way? Would the world be my refuge, or my own version of hell? Pandora is a surreal, disjointed study of looking at the ways people cope with these questions. One can shut himself off from everything else, or one can lose himself among everything the world can offer, in an effort to repair his fragmented identity. In the end, the choice is a gamble; anything can open the floodgates to more pain & emptiness. Pandora says: ask & you shall receive; but what it is you’ll receive, you are never sure.
Pandora was part of a series of 4 youth-directed short films called Cyclorama, which dealt with the self's seach for identity & unanswered questions.
Stormy is the collaborative effort between Tara BoschSantelices & Joee Mejias. With Joee's background in production design & Tara's in political science, their works merge both surreal & challenging aesthetics & intelligent social/ideological commentary using different media, such as video, graphics, sketches, short stories,& music. They are inspired by such material as vintage science fiction, the surrealist & expressionist movements, Neo-Gramscian & queer theories, & industrial/electron ic music.
by Tey Clamor
Directed by Tey Clamor, this experimental film frames visual images of women in a patriarchal society, heightened by vignettes of violence and sexual abuse. The film is the country's official entry to the 2007 Student Oscars competition of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the award-giving body of the Oscar awards.
Tey Clamor is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts, Major in Film and Audio Visual Communication at the University of The Philippines – Film Institute. At least for me, my straight (now and then bi-curious) hot accessory has been helpful in my going to the Dyke Nights. Not only do I have someone with me, I have another pair of eyes to scout for my type of girls, especially since I have poor eyesight and am stubborn enough not to wear my glasses.
A good tip in bringing your "accessory" to the Dyke Nights is that she shouldn't be culture shocked by the community.
Oh, and don't be surprised if your "accessory" decides to be bi when she sees all the gorgeous people of the Dyke Nights. Given time, she just might turn into Kit and realize she's really straight with you as a good lesbian friend.
This is a community opened to share invitations to dyke nights, stories behind the veil of dyke nights. You don't even have to wait for midnight.
Posts of invites to exclusive parties are FRIENDS ONLY. Join the community.
